When creating events of any kind you will be asked to designate one or multiple categories for the event. Selecting the correct categories will ensure your event appears in as many relevant widgets and searches as possible. Please note that you can select as many categories as apply and we recommend selecting ALL pertinent categories for your event.
To help you with this process we have listed all the categories below, along with some information pertaining to that categories' definition and an example.

| Amateur | Any open event where anyone can signup to compete and participate. | ESL Mobile Open |

| Post Season | Any competition that will eliminate participants until only one champion remains. | LPL Spring Playoffs |
| Exhibition | Any match that is being played purely for entertainment with no impact on any competitive event. | Pros vs Casters |
| Game Release | The release of a new game, or of an existing game on a new platform | New Pokemon Snap |
| DLC Release | An existing game is getting new content that players can purchase / download | Shadow War DLC 4 |
| Game Update | Any major update related to a game | League of Legends Season 12 |
