Calls to Action are ways for you to drive your users to take the action in ways that benefit them and your business. These can be added to events, matches, participants, and organizations in ReadyUp. You can always add up to 3 Calls to Action (or CTAs) to promote anything from a stream link to a social community or use them to drive the sales of items such as merchandise or tickets.
Anatomy of a CTA
CTAs are comprised of four components: the Label, the Type, the URL, and the Order.
The Label
The Label is the text that users will see on the button or event card, examples would be things like "Tickets", "Store", or "Merch" The label currently has a limit of about 11 characters, longer labels will be cut off in some views.
The Type
There are three distinct types that can be utilized depending on the type of action you would like your user to take. We currently support URL, Email, and Applications.
The URL is the link to whatever stream, eCommerce platform, social media page, or other online platform you want.
Email allows users to directly send an email to the designated address in order to join a mailing list, register or any other reason you might have to encourage users to connect via email.
Applications allow for deep linking directly into other existing applications.
The Order
The order of your CTAs matter. The higher in the list a CTA is the higher priority it gets. The CTA at the top of the list is visible on the event card in the main event list and is what is seen when viewing an event on a widget, twitch extension, or through the discord bot.
Adding CTAs
The CTA control panel looks like this:
Fill out the fields with your information and hit the orange + button on the right, you can add up to three CTAs this way.
Once you have added three CTAs the fields will be greyed out and you will need to edit or delete one of the existing CTAs instead. Use the 3 lines on the right of the CTAs to drag them into the desired order, with the most important CTA sitting at the top of the list.
