In this article we will cover the basics of editing a single competition event via the ReadyUp admin panel.
- Log in to the ReadyUp Admin
- Select the Events option from the menu on the left side of the screen
- Find the event you want to edit in the list, you can use the event filters to find it faster.
- Click the "Edit" button at the bottom of the card.
Competition Overview
When editing a competition we are first taken to the Competition Overview screen:
This screen allows you to access all the different parts of the competition.
1. Event Details
- Below the event cover, you can click the "Edit Event Details" button to modify the main settings for the competition.
- You should see a screen that looks like the image below where you can start to edit your event information.
The table below describes each field on the page and gives examples for what type of information can be added.

Once you have finished entering your competition information click the orange "Save" button in the bottom right corner of the page.
2. Participants
You can Add, Remove, and swap participants by clicking the "Edit" button
Adding Participants
Simply begin typing in the name of the participant you want to add to your event. Many already exist in our database. Upon the participant name you want to add appearing, simply select it. Then click the orange "Add Participant" button to the right to confirm your selection.
If the participant does not exist in our system, you can create them right on this page by clicking "Create & Add Participant" next to the text.
Alternatively, you can fully create a new participant through our normal process.
Repeat this process until you have added all participants in your event.
Once you are done click the orange "Save" button to complete adding all of these participants to your competition. Then click "Cancel" which is next to the save button on the bottom right of your screen to return to the previous page.
Deleting Participants
If you added a participant by mistake you can simply click the black trashcan icon on the right of the participant to remove them from your competition.
3. Stages & Matches
Here is where you can edit the information for each individual stage in the competition, as well as the matches in those stages. You can change the order of the stages by clicking and dragging them.
Click the "Edit Stages" button to add new stages or add matches to an existing stage.
Creating Stages
You can call a stage whatever you like. Common uses are the day of the week matches are being played or the round those matches are in within the tournament. Examples include Saturday, Quarter Finals, Grand Finals, etc. You can change the name of the stage by simply editing the text field that the name is stored in.
You can then select how many games are allotted for each match in the "Best Of" dropdown.
If these settings will be used for all the stages in your competition check the box "Use these settings as default for all stages" so you will only have to update the name of the following stages in your event.
Once the stage is set up to your liking click the orange "Save" button in the bottom right corner of your screen. You are now ready to begin adding individual matches or to create additional stages. You can also set the publish state of a stage by adjusting the toggle next to the cancel button.
To create another stage click the "add stage" button to the right of the "stage to edit" dropdown and repeat the process until you have created all the stages for your competition.
Deleting Stages
To delete a stage click the delete button in the bottom left while viewing that stage.
Adding Matches to Stages
To add a match first use the "stage to edit" dropdown to ensure you are adding a match to the correct stage. Then you can click on the "Add Match" button and it will take you to the page to create a new match.
Adding Matches with no Stage
To add a match without a stage first go back to the Competition Overview screen. Then you can click on the "Add Match" button in the "Matches with No Stage" and it will take you to the page to create a new match without a stage.
Editing Matches
To edit an existing match click the blue edit button in the bottom left corner of the card.
Editing a Match
You will see a page like the one below. Many of the fields will already have been filled in pulling the data from the competition itself. Make sure to adjust any of this information accordingly for the specific match.

Once you have finished filling out the information for the match click the orange "Save" button in the bottom right corner of the page.
You can add as many matches as needed in each stage. When you are finished hit the orange "Cancel" button in the bottom right area of the page.
