Once your events have been created and optimized, you are ready to show them to the world.
Creating Your Widget
- Less is more - Use the fewest number of filters possible to get the desired results.
- Appearance customization only matters for website implementations. If you only plan on using the Widget exclusively on Twitch or Discord, you can ignore these Widget settings..
- You can make more than one Widget. Common variants include creating a master Widget, one for each owned property, and Widgets with different Types (Event vs Match).
Using the Widget on Twitch
- Avoid "Watch" as the main CTA. If your events primarily live on Twitch, then making "Watch" with a link to Twitch as your primary CTA will simply refresh the page. Instead, encourage users to take another action that will benefit their experience or your business (i.e. Learn More, Register).
- Use multiple widgets. Let customers know what is happening on that specific channel as well as across your network. Allow them to see upcoming matches within the current event and easily see when your next event is taking place by utilizing both the "Match" and "Event" Widget types.
- Utilize your talent to encourage engagement. Have your broadcast talent direct viewers to the extension below to get notifications for the matches they care about most or interact with your CTAs.
Discord
- For publishing purposes, we recommend giving the bot a role in your discord server that only has the authorization to speak in a channel where regular users cannot (news, announcements, etc).
- Commit to a regular cadence for posting these events into your discord so your community knows when to look for information.
- The bot will return 10 events when searched. Base your publication schedule on how many events you have coming up to inform the cycle (weekly, daily, monthly, etc).
